Snow in London, summit in creativity

 
Heavy snow continued to blanket Britain this evening with the Met Office issuing a severe weather warning for ice.
 
 
Commuters heading home faced challenging journeys tonight after blizzards tore across the country, although Britain has stayed largely on the move despite the white-out.
Airports cancelled flights, motorways were closed and there were delays on trains - but major travel hubs have stayed open and London Underground is still running.
 
 
In Lancashire a 16-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital with serious head and back injuries after a snowboarding accident. The teenager was snowboarding on Parbold Hill, near Wrightington, this afternoon when she is thought to have crashed into a barbed wire fence. She was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital.
